Wong's success began immediately in 2002, when he played a key role in Algonquin's OCAA and CCAA championship-winning season. That year, the team posted a 10-2-0 record with Wong in net, who conceded just seven goals. His performances earned Algonquin the East Defensive Team of the Year and was also selected to the OCAA Championship All-Star Team. In 2003, Wong continued to stand out as Algonquin secured an OCAA silver medal. That season he was named an OCAA League All-Star, OCAA East Goal Keeper of the Year, and a CCAA All-Canadian. As team captain in 2004, Wong led Algonquin to another OCAA Championship and a CCAA National Silver Medal. He finished his final season with a 6-1-0 record and was once again recognized as an OCAA Championship All-Star. Wong graduated with honors in Small & Medium Enterprise Management and was later named to the CCAA's 50th Anniversary 50 for 50 list, recognizing the top men's soccer players in CCAA history.

Wong returned to the program in 2017 as an assistant coach before being named head coach of the Wolves in 2022. Under his guidance, the Wolves have reestablished themselves as one of the top teams in the country, earning OCAA and CCAA Silver in 2024. Coach Wong was also named the OCAA Men's Soccer Coach of the Year for the 2024 season.
