Greg Shirley had a standout three-year collegiate career at Algonquin College, earning OCAA all-star honours each season.

During his time with the Thunder, the team earned a medal at every provincial championship—claiming two silver and one bronze over three consecutive years.

Known for his dedication and leadership, Shirley became the team’s captain for his final two seasons. His exceptional performance at the 1994-95 provincial championship earned him a place on the tournament all-star team.

In recognition of his success both academically and athletically, Algonquin College retired his No. 22 jersey.
