Jonathan Bell played for the Algonquin Thunder men’s basketball team from 2001-02 to 2002-03 before continuing his collegiate career with the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men.
Renowned for his explosive athleticism and deep passion for the game, Jonathan made a major impact during his time at Algonquin. In his second season, he led the OCAA in scoring with an impressive 27.4 points per game. Coaches often remarked that his speed and natural ability alone guaranteed 15 to 20 points each night.
His exceptional performance in his final season earned him the title of OCAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Year, along with national recognition as a CCAA All-Canadian.
After graduating from St. Francis Xavier University, Jonathan transitioned into a leadership role in sport and currently serves as the athletic director at Bedford Academy in Nova Scotia.
