Mike Caruso had an outstanding four-year career with the Algonquin Thunder men’s soccer team, establishing himself as one of the premier strikers of his generation. By the end of his collegiate career, he had secured his place in the OCAA record book, ranking sixth all-time with 34 goals scored.

Throughout his time with the Thunder, Caruso consistently earned recognition for his performance. He was named an OCAA all-star, a CCAA national championship tournament all-star, and a CCAA All-Canadian during the 1998-99 season. He played a pivotal role in leading Algonquin to an OCAA gold medal in the 1999-2000 season, helping the team earn a berth at the national championship.

Caruso’s leadership was just as impactful as his scoring ability—he served as team captain for three seasons, demonstrating poise and dedication on and off the field.

Beyond the college circuit, Mike played for numerous select and showcase teams, and even had a stint playing in France, gaining valuable international experience.

In recognition of his excellence, Caruso was named to the OCAA Men’s Soccer All-Millennium Team.
