Rhonda Giguere was a dominant force during her two-year career with the Algonquin Caats women’s basketball team, leaving a lasting legacy in the OCAA. She became the first player in league history to win back-to-back scoring titles, cementing her place in the record books.

Her stellar play earned her OCAA All-Star honours in both seasons, and she was named a CCAA All-Canadian in her rookie year. Giguere’s arrival sparked a dramatic turnaround for the program, which had gone winless at 0-14 in 1983-84. With her leadership and talent, the Caats reached the OCAA quarter-finals in consecutive seasons.

Today, Rhonda continues to contribute to the Algonquin College athletics community as the Coordinator of Campus Recreation.
