Sarah Hazlewood enjoyed a remarkable five-year career with the Algonquin Thunder women’s volleyball program, earning numerous accolades along the way.

In 2003-04, she made an immediate impact, being named OCAA Rookie of the Year. From 2004-05 through 2007-08, Hazlewood captained the Thunder to four consecutive OCAA East regional titles. Her consistent excellence on the court earned her OCAA Second-Team All-Star honours in both 2004-05 and 2005-06, followed by First-Team All-Star selections in 2006-07 and 2007-08.

Known for her leadership and competitive spirit, Sarah seamlessly transitioned into coaching after her playing career. She served as an assistant coach with the Thunder from 2009-10 to 2012-13 and was also active at the club level in Ottawa, continuing to develop young volleyball talent in the region.
