WOLVES VOLLEYBALL HIT THE ROAD TO TAKE ON UNBEATEN SENECA STING

Ottawa, ON -  The men's and women's volleyball teams have both had a fantastic first half of the season so far, with both teams entering the final weekend of the semester with identical 5-1 records. The Wolves will have a tough test this weekend as they head to Toronto to take on the Seneca Sting on Friday November 28th. Both the men's and women's teams for the Sting are undefeated this season, so this game has big implications on the standings heading into the second half of the season.

On the women's side, the Wolves are coming off a dominant 3-0 sweep of the George Brown Huskies, highlighted by a standout performance from Carys Tenthorey, who recorded 24 total points and earned Wolves Athlete of the Week honours. When comparing the match-up, it will be a battle of two of the top five offenses in the OCAA as Algonquin is number one in kills per set with 12.68, while Seneca is fourth with 11.74. Both teams will try to use their service game to keep the other out of system, as Seneca is first in the OCAA with 80 total aces, while Algonquin is third with 71.

On the men's side, the Wolves have their defense to thank for their strong season thus far as they are first in the OCAA in both digs and digs per set, led by third year libero Naoki Nakashima who sits at 102 digs for the season. Algonquin also sets the tone at the net, ranking first in blocks per set and second in total blocks, led by second-year middle Mateo Nunez Kruus, who sits fourth in the OCAA with 0.74 blocks per set. That defensive strength will be tested against a Seneca offense boasting the highest attack efficiency in the league with a .322 hitting percentage.
