Wolves basketball is back in action on Saturday January 17th when they take on the George Brown Huskies at the Jack Doyle Athletics and Recreation Centre.
On the women's side, this will be the Wolves first action of 2026. The team currently holds the third spot in the OCAA East standings after a 4-3 first semester. As for the Huskies, they sit one spot back with a 5-4 record. Algonquin and George Brown met back on November 22nd in Toronto when the Huskies squeaked away with a 66-65 win.
This matchup will feature the two top scorers in the OCAA with Algonquin's Taryn Mitchell and George Brown's Jayme Foreman averaging 18.9 points per game. Mitchell has been a force all season also leading her team in rebounds and assists with 7.8 and 4.4 per game.
On the men's side, The Wolves are hoping to sweep the season series with the Huskies after a 79-74 road win back in November. A balanced offence got the job done in that one with five players scoring in double figures. The Huskies started the second half of the season with a narrow 76-74 loss to Fleming on Friday February 9th. The Wolves will host the La Cité Coyotes on Wednesday January 14th at 7:00 pm before hosting George Brown on Saturday.
The women's game is set to tip-off at 6:00 pm with the men's game to follow at 8:00 pm.
