The Algonquin Wolves men's rugby team is back in action this Sunday, September 28, as they hit the road to face the Durham Lords.
The Wolves return to play after an unexpectedly long break, with their most recent match cancelled due to a forfeit. Now sitting at 1-1, the Wolves will be looking to build momentum—though they'll have their work cut out for them against the top-ranked team in Ontario.
Playoff Push
Sunday's matchup marks the halfway point of the regular season. Thanks in part to that earlier forfeit win, the Wolves find themselves in the playoff hunt for the first time since rejoining the OCAA in 2023. The top seven teams qualify for the postseason, and Algonquin currently sits in 5th place. Their schedule also plays to their advantage, with two of their final three games coming against Seneca and St. Lawrence, who are both winless at 0-2.
