MEN'S SOCCER IMPROVE TO 3-0 WITH HOME OPENING WIN

The Wolves men's team continued their hot start improving to 3-0 on the season thanks to a 5-nil win over the Surge.  3rd year Centre Back Alessandro Vivolo has been on fire out of the gate and Wednesday's home opener was no different.  In the 8th minute Vivolo received a pass from Alix Basa and opened the scoring with a right foot strike.  Vivolo also scored the 3rd Wolves goal in the 57th minute.  With 3 games played, he currently leads the OCAA with 8 goals and 18 points.

The Wolves got an added boost to the lineup this week with the addition of 3rd year Striker Gershom Dupuy.  Gershom wasted no time getting on the scoresheet pouncing on a rebound to score the Wolves 2nd goal in the 38th minute to send his team into the locker room with a 2-nil lead.  Dupuy would score again in the 69th minute, receiving a throw-in from rookie Shawn-Allen Guillaume and driving it down the right side to put it home and give Algonquin a 4-nil lead.  Speaking of Guillaume, he received a cross from Alton Gaspard and deposited a header into the back of the net for the 5th and final Wolves goal in the 77th minute.

The Wolves currently hold the top spot in the OCAA East.  They will head on the road this weekend to take on the George Brown Huskies on Sunday September 14th at 3:15 pm at Esther Shiner Civic Stadium.  You can catch the action on OCAA LIVE.  You can catch the Wolves at home the following Friday September 19th when the Cambrian Shield come to town.  It will be the first Food Cupboard game of the varsity season with all proceeds going to support the SA Food Cupboard.  Make sure to get your tickets and bring a non-perishable donation.
