ALGONQUIN MEN'S VOLLEYBALL HEAD COACH JELLE KOOIJMAN STEPS DOWN AFTER 6 SEASONS

The Algonquin SA Athletics Department would like to announce that Jelle Kooijman has made the decision to step down from his position of Head Coach of the Algonquin Wolves men's volleyball team. 

Jelle took over the program going into the 2019-20 campaign.  During his 6 seasons his teams collected a winning record of 61 wins and 35 losses and made 3 trips to the quarter-finals.  The  best season under his leadership came in 2023-24 when the Wolves finished 3rd in the OCAA East division with a 14-4 overall record.  

Under his leadership, Algonquin athletes earned 6 OCAA East 1st Team All-Star awards, 7 OCAA East 2nd Team All-Star awards, 1 OCAA East All-Rookie Team award and 1 OCAA East scoring champion.

 During his time at Algonquin, Jelle has had a positive impact on our student-athletes, our men's volleyball program and our athletics department as a whole.  He will be greatly missed.  The Algonquin Students' Association Athletics Department would like to thank him for 6 dedicated years at the helm of the program.
